QPR under 18s continued their preseason schedules with a 4-3 win against Leyton Orient at Heston. The game was due to start at 10.30 so I got there at 10.20 to find the game had started “about five minutes ago”. Rangers had to come from behind as Orient took the lead on 13 minutes from a 25 yard free kick. It’s a mystery as to what the free kick was given for though.
A few minutes later we woke up with Dillon Da Silva creating a great chance for Jake Frailing with the O’s keeper pulling off a great save. It wasn’t going to be his last save though. On 23 minutes we put pressure on their defence and 3 shots blocked in seconds then Frailing side footed from 12 yards and the ball was inches wide. Five minutes later Frailing tried his luck from 30 yards but again it was inches wide. On 32 minutes Shiloh Remy equalised and it was all his own work. Orient were prone to taking short goal kicks and he intercepted one such goal kick, robbed the defender and held him off then went around the keeper and scored from close range. We were now well on top with both Da Silva and Khaliq Raymond-Callendar taking it in turns to skin their markers and put in cross after cross. On 40 minutes Raymond-Callendar skinned the full back and his shot was just wide. Then Kai Woolard –Innocent put in a perfect cross which saw the O’s keeper make a great save from Frailing at the far post. Rangers finally got the second goal their pressure had deserved on 43 minutes.
Raymond –Callendar was found in the box with a through ball and he finished from an acute angle.
HT 2-1. It could’ve been more.
At the start of the second half forward Charly Kendall came on as a sub for central midfielder Nathaniel Orafu, not sure if he was injured or it was tactical. To be fair the second half was a poor game with gale force winds ruining both sides plan to play football on the deck. Then on about 70 minutes the winds suddenly vanished and a football match returned. On 73 minutes Orient equalised following some period of possession with the ball being walloped in from 25 yards (again).
But within two minutes Charly Kendall restored the lead when following good link up play with Raymond -Callendar he found himself one on one and buried the ball into the net.
A few minutes later we played some great football and when it got into the box Jake Frailing missed narrowly from 12 yards. It deserved a goal but it wasn’t long before we scored a fourth. Khaliq Raymond-Callendar got the ball on the left wing , he then went on a mazy run and beat four or five defenders before slipping it under the keeper as he came to narrow the angle.4-2.
Orient weren’t finished though and went up the other end and scored another 25 yarder to make it 4-3. In the remaining 7-8 minutes we created two or three decent chances but the score remained 4-3.

Team : 1. Tyla Dickinson 2 Aaron Drewe 3. Kai Woolard –Innocent
4. Nathaniel Orafu 5. Nathan Carlyle 6. Joe Gubbins 7. Dillon Da Silva
8. Shiloh Remy 9. Trialist (???)10. Jake Frailing 11. Khaliq Raymond-Callendar.
