I am still seeing on some sites QPR fans saying that others do not go to games and should not post on message boards, what a load of shite, Same people used to tell me I did not get QPR as I am from Belfast and so on.

What fecking world are they from ? This is QPR FFS, does not matter if you come from Dublin, Durham, Acton or New York, QPR is QPR, so sick of reading I am a bigger fan than you shite, and when you think the people saying it are middle aged, the words get a life come to mind.

The more QPR games a person can get to in these hard times makes them lucky, we are loyal otherwise we would not be posting or caring. No idea why some started this rubbish but it is school yard stuff.

Would also help if the people talking about such things and pointing the finger at other fans knew we won the League Cup or said that Gary Bannister was one of our best "kickers".

I agree, when I was going home and away every week it used to wind me up when fans used to moan at other fans with comments like "where were you at Newcastle" and the like, each person's individual circumstances are different not everyone has the time and money to go every week,it doesn't make you more of a fan just because you have the disposable income than someone else.
You do get a certain snobbery with fans that go to every game, there was one fan in particular at rangers that used to use that line and was never actually guilty of buying a ticket for a game, who's more of a fan someone like that or a father of two kids who struggles to get his kids to 2 or 3 games a season at about £80 a pop each time?

For me it's like this:

If you are confident in your support because you know your-self that you are a loyal supporter then you have no need to question other's support and you don't.

However if you are insecure about your-self and your loyalty, you would look to quantify it by comparing it with others.

One easy way to do this is to question the loyalty of others so you can say you are a bigger and better supporter (whatever that means) in comparison.

However in my book a real and loyal supporter would welcome all other supporters and only look to question them over specific reasons like arguing over transfers, formations and why Ollie was always late with his substitutions.

A real supporter doesn't look at the length of time you been supporting or how many games you go to, as all that would matter would be that you support the greatest team in the world.

A fake, insecure supporter would question your attendance as they have nothing else to go on especially if they are worried about their own attendance record over the years. Empty vessels tend to make the most noise and all that.

In my opinion if you can go to matches, especially with our rip off prices then you are luckier than loyal supporters who can't due to work commitments, financial reasons or personal circumstances.

Going can certainly make you more cynical but not more loyal.

It's a childish premise to think in the terms that just because you go you are a more loyal supporter but an easy argument to make that requires no intelligence, just a self-centred arrogance due to being an ignorant idiot.

WE ARE QPR.

Well said Mark.
You well and truely nailed it.

Anyone reading, who may be unsure about how support works, print off Mark's reply and have a quick look at it every now and again.

As a sometime subject of "You shouldnt be allowed to post your views re QPR" I wouldnt disagree with any of the above views. Personally, having supported QPR for 40+ years, I never realized it was something you had to prove.

For me: If you're gutted when QPR lose. And over the moon when QPR win - regardless of whether or not you saw that game; and if you spend an inordinate amount of time focusing on QPR, then: You're a supporter.

Report, I well remember a certain someone having a pop at you a few years back (on the old official board), saying you weren't a true fan as you hadn't been to LR for 10 years or whatever. Of course, the fact that you live in the US wasn't taken into account!

"If you are confident in your support because you know your-self that you are a loyal supporter then you have no need to question other's support and you don't".

Mark's comment says it all. Supporters draw attention to the Club, not themselves. That makes it easy for us to recognise other supporters.

Like us, their concern is how well the Club is doing, not how well someone's ego is doing.

We all have an ego, but when we take it out for a walk, we put it on a lead.

The more you think about it, the more it's sad is it not.

When I was young, and even now, when you tell some people that you are a Queen's Park Rangers fan, oh the witty come back of "ah so you're the one"....or the classic "when you ring up to see what time kick off is they say what time can you get here"
At that point I lose the use of my sides.

Only a moron would post that people that live overseas and can not get to games should not post about QPR then mess it all up by getting all the players names wrong on a video........
I rest my case as they say.

I can't speak for all overseas fans Finney but personally any sob telling me who I can root for or not root for, what I can talk about etc., might as well tell me what kind of beer I can drink, cigarettes I can smoke and when I can use the bathroom  They'll get the same response to any of the above suggestions/opinions

Ditto chaps, although I really couldn't care less what some charmless idiot has to say when the daftness of the comments speak for themselves. Those who truly excel at stupidity rarely need rebuttal time wasted upon them.

Bang on Steve.

Unfortunatly there has always been a small minority involved with this club who consider themselves loyal 'superfans', and then there are the sheep that follow...... shame they can't all get a life.
