Good luck to him, news from the Club......

GARY Penrice has left his role as Recruitment Consultant at QPR to pursue other opportunities.

Penrice played for the R’s between 1991 and 1995 and was part of Ian Holloway’s backroom team during his first stint as Rangers boss.

The former striker returned to the club in May 2017 and has helped to restructure the recruitment department during that period.

Director of Football Les Ferdinand told “I would like to express my sincere thanks to Gary for all his hard work and efforts over the past 2½ years.

“He joined us at a really important time and used his experience and expertise to put a solid recruitment set-up in place.

“We have now reached a position where we can move forward and build on that.

“All parties have been very open and honest with each other over the past six months which has enabled us to prepare accordingly for this January’s transfer window and beyond.

“It has been great to work closely with Gary and he will always be welcome back at the club.”

Following Penrice’s departure Andy Belk will take on a greater role within the department.

Ferdinand added: “Andy has worked at QPR for the past 12 years and has an outstanding knowledge of players both domestically and overseas.

“He joined us in 2007 as First Team Analyst and has progressed internally during that time. He became Recruitment Analyst & Scouting Coordinator four years ago and has worked very closely with Gary since 2017.”

"Pen," of course, was a great pal of Ian Holloway.
