QPR boss Mark Warburton has indicated that he plans to switch back to a four-man defence.

Warburton adopted a back three against Luton, with Toni Leistner playing between Grant Hall and Yoann Barbet.

But the manager has insisted that was more to do with Luton’s tactics than the defensive vulnerabilities Rangers have shown so far this season.

Warburton felt Hatters forward James Collins would drop deep and that wingers Kazenga LuaLua and Harry Cornick would look to drift into central areas.

“I’ll happily change it,” said Warburton, whose team have won three league matches in a row.

“We’ve got to look at our opponent. We felt Collins would come off and drop on to Dom Ball.

“We also felt that LuaLua and Cornick would play quite narrow so our two centre-halves Grant and Yoann could deal with that and that would mean our wing-backs had to push on to their full-backs, which they did.”

Bright Osayi-Samuel was absent from the matchday squad for Saturday’s 3-2 win but is expected to return for this weekend’s London derby at Millwall.

“He had a slight tweak but he’s OK,” Warburton said.
