No real flow to the game early on, Scowen headed over, Mackie shot wide, neither keeper was troubled very much.

The home side scored with a rasping 25-yarder after Caulker had blocked the first effort.

Again, we had to wait until the second-half before we really got going.

Smithies made a couple of excellent saves, one in which a dipping 30 yard effort was tipped over.

Wszolel was set up by Freeman and as he homed in at an angle he screwed the ball wide from 8 yards.

We had a big shout for a pen after Luongo was impeded in the box.

Matty smith was brought on and he also missed a sitter when he poked his effort from very close range without any power. Then despite his dive he couldn't quite connect his head with the ball.

Then in the 87th minute Freeman let fly from 25 yards in front of us. The keeper may have got a touch but it ended up in the back of the net to the relief of the travelling R's fans.

We seem incapable of taking the initiative and unsettling teams in a poor run of form. Why do we not attack them early as it gives them confidence they shouldn't have.

If Lynch was fit enough to be on the bench why did he not start?
The lack of a goal scoring forward will cost us big time. The lower leagues are full of goal scoring players we could have taken a chance on for a low outlay.

Full marks to Steve and all the other Rs fans who travelled. The TV coverage made it look as though you were the only spectators. :D

The fat lady got us out of jail.

Yes why did Lynch not start?

Burton and Barnsley are poor championship teams yet we struggle. We need to recapture our form and performances shown in the first 5 league games.

How did Caulker play Steve?

Alright Alan......He got booked in the first-half, thought he did ok considering how little game time etc etc he's had.

Think he was helped by the fact that Alex Baptiste had such a good match.

Ollie stated that he was pleased with his performance.
