In Memory of Gerry Higgins

Last week ‘north poler’ posted the very sad news on the Indy’s website forum that Gerry Higgins had passed away.

Gerry was originally from Galway and became the Guvnor of the ‘Crown & Sceptre’ in Melina Road, Shepherd’s Bush for a number of years.

Pat Harrison summed up what many felt about him on the Indy’s Facebook page: ‘It was such a shock to hear that earlier. He was always so welcoming and a really lovely man.

The ‘Crown & Sceptre’ won’t be the same without him. Much thoughts and sympathy to his wife and family.

Rest in Peace Gerry you will be missed by so many people.’

Gerry would always try and have a quick chat or if he was really busy it would be a welcoming handshake. A proper Gent, who was popular with many R’s fans.

My condolences to his family at this time.
God Bless you Gerry.

Steve Russell

  1. Hi Steve. Thank you for this beautiful tribute.
Jerry was indeed a lovely Special Man.
It was my pleasure to share my photo.
    Thank you for the mention.
    R.I.P. Jerry.

  2. I travel from Dublin to all home QPR home matches and the Crown & Sceptre is always my favourite place to go to have my lunch and a pint before and after the match. The reason being the good food served and the great atmosphere there, with Gerry always smiling and welcoming, a real gentleman and a true friend for all the QPR fans. It has been an honour to meet him and I will surely miss him.
