A ‘QPR Room‚’ somewhere in Norway: Room with a View – No.2

I have around 50 shirts, 4/5 of them are signed. For me the most special one is the play-off final shirt.

I was outside the entrance at Loftus Road after the Chesterfield match the season after (03/04), when Steve Russell introduced me (cheers for that Steve!) to the then Club Director, Nick Blackburn.

Blackburn brought me straight into the dressing room so that I could meet the players and staff, and to get my shirt signed. This was maybe 10 minutes after the match, so the players were coming straight from the showers. This made some weird photo opportunities!

Also a cool shirt is the London Masters 2011 shirt, signed by players such as Wayne Fereday and Michael Meaker.

I’ve been collecting signed pictures for quite some time now. Most of them I’ve had framed and they’re on the wall in my “QPR room”. My favourite is an old poster signed by Rodney Marsh supposedly in the 60’s.

Most of them I’ve bought at internet auctions like ebay, but I’ve also collected quite a few of them in person. I’ve had the opportunity to be a kit sponsor a couple of times, so I’ve got the boots from players like Joey Barton, Ale Faurlin and Heidar Helguson.

The football is signed by the 92/93 team, the best QPR side of my lifetime!

  1. I have that picture of Rodney (unsigned tho) and yes it was late 1960. I purchased it from a seller outside the Loft entrance .. You can imagine my surprise ( and anger at the time) because on the reverse was a picture Liverpools Ian St John . A double sided poster picture seemed such a con at the time but it’s a nice bit of memorabilia and memory of fantastic time at the Bush

  2. I remember being the (signed) Rodney Marsh poster – which has pride of place, in the centre of Frode’s magnificent display – outside Wembley in ’67, along with a signed team poster!
