Tiger Feet 4 – The Sponsored Walk to the Emirates in Aid of the QPR Tiger Cubs

Fiona Hodgson is the Business Development Manager for QPR in the Community Trust and she forwarded us the following details regarding Saturday’s ‘Tiger Feet’ walk to the Emirates:

‘QPR in the Community Trust’s last three sponsored walk events have been a great success. Our first ‘Tiger Feet’ walk was to Crystal Palace, in the second year we walked to Watford and last year Tottenham’s White Hart Lane was our destination. This season “Tiger Feet 4” will be a sponsored walk to Arsenal for the match on 27th October 2012.

This annual event raises money for the QPR Tiger Cubs. Set up in 2009, the Tiger Cubs is a football team for children and young people with Downs Syndrome.

The Tiger Cubs are run in partnership with the Downs Syndrome Association and provides children and young people with DS the same opportunities of being part of a team as their able bodied peers.

The money raised allows us to offer additional activities to the weekly football sessions including golf and tennis. We now also run QPR Tigers, a weekly session for adults with DS. Our aim this year is to reach the £10,000 mark,
The Tiger Cubs were nationally recognised, winning the 2010 Football League Award for best disability community project.’

There are a couple of ways in which you can support this fundraiser.

As we know Paul Finney talks the talk and once again he will be walking the walk, this time accompanied by his daughter, Lillie.

Good luck to all the walkers on Saturday.
