Christmas Greetings from the Indy R’s & the Team of the Season

We would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year. Furthermore, we would like to thank everyone that has contributed to the website over the past 12 months and have supported our fundraising efforts.

It was another dramatic year of course for the R’s, on and off the pitch, promotion to the Premier League confirmed in the most dramatic circumstances. Then more recently some of the previous regime’s activities were revealed in the ‘Four Year Plan’ at various Film Festivals and with the release of a DVD. Hopefully 2012 will see Rangers climb up the table and the Board will continue to build bridges and dialogue with the fanbase.

This is a time for not only looking forward, but also thinking back to our friends and family who are sadly no longer with us, Neil Roberts, Paul Harford, Ron Bunyan, Barry Spicer, Trevor Kingham, Paul Farley and many others.

As far as I can remember, the leaflet shown above was handed out to fans upon entering Loftus Road in December 1966.

  1. Yes an eventful year with good times and not quite so good times with the passing of a number of Stalwat R’s supporters.

..For the record we beat Brighton 3-0 and Watford 4-1. I saw both games.

In the Watford Game Sir Alf Ramsey was in the old wooden Ellerslie Road Stand(watching Rodney Marsh)…and that famous picture of Les Allen with his shirt ripped apart was from this fixture.

    Happy Days.

  2. A very poignant piece Steve.
As you say, we must look forward, but should never forget those are not with us anymore.
    God bless them all.
