Team: Cerny, Ramage, Gorkss, Stewart, Williams, Routledge, Leigertwood, Watson, Simpson (Vine), Taarabt, Agyemang. Subs Not Used: Taylor, Hall, Faurlin, Parker, Pellicori, Balanta. Attendance: 12,639 A win’s a win and it was certainly a massive one for us but two shots on target and those last two substitutions ? We looked very shaky in defence and they were certainly the better side in the first-half and coming out with a two-goal advantage after the break, we did okay for a while. … Continue reading

QPR v Sheffield United

Team: Cerny, Ramage, Gorkss, Stewart, Williams, Routledge, Leigertwood, Watson, Simpson (Vine), Taarabt, Agyemang. Subs Not Used: Taylor, Hall, Faurlin, Parker, Pellicori, Balanta. Attendance: 12,639 It was poor, patchy at best, plus all the usual defensive howlers. The quality football has gone. During the half-time interval, I thought we faced certain defeat but luckily for us, Sheffield United decided to play for a draw in the second half. Crikey, even their keeper was wasting time with nearly 20 minutes still to … Continue reading

All Change Again At QPR As Paul Hart Gives His Affable Nature A Big Test

Posted on by Site Admin

The following article on the revolving door at Loftus Road was written by Tom Dart and appeared in ‘The Times’ ‚Äì Paul Hart faced the key questions yesterday. Have Queen’s Park Rangers got what it takes to win promotion ? Will there be money to spend in January ? Have you ever head-butted anyone ? ‚ÄúNot since I was a Manager, no,‚Äù Hart joked. Three weeks after being sacked by Portsmouth, he is back in the game, but the Ringmaster … Continue reading

Team: Wright, Harriman, Waters, Ehmer, Bailey, Olley, Sutherland, Doughty, Cox, German, Graham Subs: Morley, Bewick, Nanetti, Sterling, Molloy There was a trialist in goal today, Joe Wright who has been at Rangers for two weeks. Wet underfoot, little wind but the sun was out as the Saturday Morning Mob shuffled around behind the corner flag. ‘Bags’ Graham got off to a lively start. He took the ball on his chest in midfield and then broke forward. His shot clipped a … Continue reading

Magilton Denies Head-Butt On Buzsaky But Faces Sack

Posted on by Site Admin

The following article was written by Sam Wallace, the Football Correspondent of ‘The Independent’: The suspended Queen’s Park Rangers Manager Jim Magilton will tell Gianni Paladini that he did not butt Akos Buzsaky and that the two men instead went head-to-head ‚Äì touching foreheads ‚Äì in a confrontation after the defeat at Watford on Monday night. As the fallout from Magilton’s row with his midfielder Buzsaky unfolded yesterday, sources at the club said that they believed the Rangers hierarchy were … Continue reading

The first thing to comment on would be the obvious changes from Saturday ‚Äì Agyemang, Vine, Ramage and Stewart coming in for Simpson, Taarabt, Buzsaky and Gorkss. Prsonally, I was quite pleased to see Agyemang and Vine starting and the inclusion of Ramage allowed Leigertwood to … Continue reading

QPR v Middlesbrough

Early in the game, we broke forward and a through ball found Taarabt, who selfishly shot at goal when he should have passed to Simpson or Routledge. After around 20 minutes, Yeates … Continue reading

The Comic Connection ‚Äì No.1 ‚Äì ‘Scorcher and Score’ ‚Äì 29th January, 1972

Posted on by Site Admin

This is the first in a new series about British Comics that featured the R’s, seemingly long after ‘my time’ of ‘The Valiant’, ‘The Eagle’ and ‘The Victor’. In the beginning it was called ‘Scorcher’ and first appeared on 10th January, 1970. It ran for 77 issues up to 26th June, 1971 before being superseded by an amalgamation with a similar football related comic titled ‘SCORE’.¬† This merger lasted from 3rd July to 5th October, 1974 and after 171 editions … Continue reading
