Although the visitors had their share of good chances, we really should of taken all the three points with our second half display. Best was unmarked when his looping header sailed into the net to put Coventry in … Continue reading →

Scotsman George Whitelaw’s spell at Loftus Road was quite short lived. The introduction to Paulo Hewitt and John Hellier’s wonderful book on the late, great Steve Marriott reads: ‘Steve Marriott – All Too Beautiful’ – “I can’t live to anyone else’s rules.” ‘Steve Marriott was one of the music world’s most extraordinary individuals. A supremely gifted songwriter, singer and…schemer. A vocalist from the same mould as Rod Stewart, Eric Burdon and Steve Winwood…but arguably the greatest white soul singer of them all. Marriott never held back from anything, least of all … Continue reading →

PF: First question is from jjcolls. Which front men did you enjoy playing with in your time at Rangers ? KG: Well, obviously I would say Les Ferdinand, great player as everyone knows. Great thrill when you’re a young lad starting off in your professional career and you get to play with someone with so much experience, so much quality. Les was just all-round strong, quick and great in the air. In the latter years, I enjoyed for about 20 … Continue reading →

The Southend programme of 7th February 1959, states that, ‘One of our oldest servants, Assistant- Trainer Jimmy Eggleton, is ill with a touch of Bronchitis. He was so badly injured at Ypres in Flanders that he … Continue reading →

Attendance: 19,491 So a different back four yet again, with Ramage fitting in at left-back alongside Hall, Gorkss and Leigertwood, playing in front of Cerny. Up-front, Taarabt was playing just off Simpson, leaving Buzsaky left, Routledge right, and a Watson/Mahon central midfield. The first 10 minutes was all Rangers, playing their one-touch passing game. It came as no … Continue reading →

Attendance: 14,377 Sky Sports News have just done an article on the game as Warnock reckons his keeper is the best in England !!!
