This year’s Youth Kit Sponsors Evening was held on Tuesday 28th April in the W12 Suite, otherwise known as the First Floor Lounge. The Fair Play Cup from the recent Trofeo Sardegna Tournament was on display and most of the sponsored players were seated down one side. As the sponsors and guests began to arrive, I was pleased that Kiyan’s parents, Mark and Tracy, were able to attend. They really are such inspirational people and it was also good to see Rangers legend Ron Springett once again.
Keith Ryan made an introductory speech and we followed on with our award for the ‘Kiyan Prince Youth Team Player of the Year’ which was presented to Antonio German by Jimmy Murray on behalf of the Indy R’s. Well done to Antonio and good luck for the future. There was then a break in the proceedings and therefore an opportunity to visit the buffet and a get drink at the bar. Then it was that time of the evening when the players present a small gift to their sponsors. As each player stepped forward, Steve Gallen introduced them and then called up their respective sponsor.
Once again, thanks to Terry Springett for organising such an enjoyable evening and to Big Dave for sponsoring our trophy and taking the above picture of Antonio German. Congratulations to Danny Davenport, Josh Parker and Ed Harris on securing pro-deals but commiserations and good luck to those players who are leaving.
