Ian Plenderleith wrote the following article which appeared on the website of ‘When Saturday Comes’ – Steve Russell In a week when the global economy has been veering towards the real possibility of a severe depression, no-one at Queens Park Rangers has been reading the news. After significantly hiking season ticket prices over the summer, the club has decided to further raise the entrance price for any fans turning up on the day to as high as £50. Yes, that’s … Continue reading →

Ben Kosky wrote the following article in ‘The Kilburn Times’ today. QPR have denied that miscalculations in their budget prompted the controversial decision to raise ticket prices just six weeks in to the new season. Rangers supporters reacted angrily on internet forums this week after the club announced that the top seats for their next match at Loftus Road would now cost a whopping £50.00 each. Unsurprisingly, the move appears highly unpopular – particularly after the club increased prices across … Continue reading →

So, an International weekend early in September and rather than sit around cooling my heels, me and a handful of ‘selected’ others decided to go to Hungary and watch the ‘Buzmeister’ play for his national side against Denmark in a World Cup qualifier at the magnificently sounding Puskas Ferenc Stadion in Budapest (note the name reversal, a peculiarly Hungarian thing). Well, let’s be fair, it was either that or watching England embarrass themselves yet again against ‘Anbloodydora’ ! Quality idea … Continue reading →

The ‘Little Ones’ are a five-piece band from Los Angeles and although birthed under the warm rays of California, they have since become committed QPR fans. Their musical influences are rooted mainly in the 60’s with comparisons to ‘The Beach Boys’, ‘The Zombies’ and ‘The Kinks’ but Simon their Manager is responsible for getting them into the R’s. Simon is from Hampton and has been a Rangers fan since his Grandad Norman took him in 1974 and has been going … Continue reading →

Team: Bulmer, Harriman, Waters, Smith, Wright, Bailey, Nanetti, Davenport, Ehmer, Parker, German. Subs: Brittain, Perring, Morley, Vanterpool, Fernandez Considering the recent inclement weather, the pitches at the Brentford Training Ground looked in surprisingly good condition. As the Saturday Morning Mob gathered, the talk was of recent news. Shabazz Baidoo had signed for Lewes and the U18’s had won 2-1 at Reading’s Training Ground during the week. There were a couple of changes to the R’s line-up and Martin Allen’s son … Continue reading →

The team named as Barnet U18’s is not mentioned on their official website and nor do any details of it appear on any Barnet FC related website that I could find whatsoever. All very strange ! It appears that although they are called Barnet FC they are actually … Continue reading →
