Congratulations To The U18’s On Winning The Title Again

I was unable to attend the match due to illness but Pat Harrison informed me that they lined up against Brentford as follows:-

Team: Goodchild, Coyne, Wright, O’Brien, Ford, Harris, Morgan-Cummings, Maguire, German, Fernandez, Arthur.

Known Subs: Folkes, Vanterpool and Terry Smith

The R’s took the lead after about 30 minutes but the home side scored 2 goals within 5 minutes in the 2nd half. So 2-1 down with about 20 minutes to go, Rangers came back with 2 goals from Chris Arthur in quick succession soon after to win the game 3-2 and secure the title.

Well done everyone, the hope now is of course, that we regain Academy status once again very soon. They also won their final match against Brighton on Saturday, 1-0 at Harlington with Danny Fernandez getting the goal. Danny Maguire and Romone Rose played for AFC Wimbledon on the same day. Lets hope that they and others, break into the 1st team squad next Season. The U18’s/U17’s are set to visit Germany again in August where they will play top sides such as Kaiserslautern, Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayern Munchen.

It’s that time of the year when players are released and I would like to say goodbye, good luck and thanks to, Lee Brown, Billy Coyne, Aaron Morgan-Cummings, James Folkes and Chris Goodchild. Best wishes for the future.

  1. Congratualtions to all the youngsters who have played their part, however big or small, in another successful season. Looking forward to seeing them being presented with the League trophy prior to the West Brom game on Sunday.

  2. Admiration goes to some of the youngsters who played their hearts out in this game even though they had received the devastating news only the day before that they had been released. I feel so gutted for them

After I had taken this photograph, they all went off to the dressing room from where suddenly erupted the most amazing sounds of jubilation that they had clinched the title! That was lovely.
