Ray Drinkwater sadly passed away on 24th March, aged 76. He was the first QPR keeper I ever saw and he made 214 league and cup appearances for the R’s before moving on to Bath City. Michael Woodley kindly sent me the image of the Northway Youth Club team in Guildford. Ray is shown third from the left and he went on to play for Guildford City, Portsmouth and then QPR. Bernard Lambert (Kerrins) sent me his own memories of … Continue reading →

This all started 6 months ago…in a pub where most of these things tend to start. There I was minding my own business, when one of the owners of this Site blindsided me. I know two or three of them but this one pretends to be my friend but I know that he really hates me. How do I know this ? Well, the conversation went something like this: Him: “How’s life Frog ?” Me: “Rubbish, what could be worse, … Continue reading →

Team: Bulmer, Coyne, ilesanmi, O’Brien, Ford, Brown, Morgan-Cummings, Maguire, German, Fernandez, Arthur. Subs: Smith, Lawrence, Harris, Wright. In goal today was Niki Bulmer who was on Manchester United’s books and we think that he has signed for two years. At left back was Femi ilesanmi, the trialist from AFC Wimbledon who turned out for the Watford Reserve game last week. Amazingly, Danny Davenport was walking about after spending some time in the Gym following his recent foot operation. The U16’s … Continue reading →

He said: “Most definitely, we want to take the club to India. Of course, we have a little harder time … Continue reading →

The match against Crystal Palace on 29th October, 1938 marked the opening of the new Stand in the Loftus Road End. The programme notes began with an appreciation from a Shareholder. Seventy years on, we have entered a new era of even greater magnitude: ‘Today will undoubtedly stand out as a red-letter day in the history of our grand old Club, marking as it does the opening of a new era. For many years, ever since adopting the League banner … Continue reading →

Team: Crowther, Coyne, Brown, O’Brien, Ford, Harris, Morgan-Cummings, Maguire, German, Arthur, Lawrence Sub Used: Smart (the only available substitute) A very strong wind blew across the pitch which didn’t help to make it a good game and not very pleasant for watching either. Gillingham opened the scoring within the first few minutes. There were times when the R’s upped the pace and pressed well but couldn’t make it count. In fact, at one time, QPR kept possession with ten or … Continue reading →
