This proved to be a comfortable victory over Brentford and it took just two minutes for the R’s to open the scoring. Matt O’Brien picked the ball up on the right of the box and his cross found Romone Rose who nodded it home. On 18 minutes, a fine run from Rose resulted in a cross straight across the face of the goal but unfortunately there was no one on hand to get on the end of it. The only time that the visitors really troubled the Rangers defence was in the 20th minute when the Brentford forward crossed the ball but it was well cleared by Josh Ford. A QPR attack 2 minutes later ended when Rose was clattered by the Brentford keeper. Balanta then sent him the wrong way with the resulting spot kick meanwhile Rose had to go to the side-lines to receive treatment for a bleeding nose.

Then on 34 minutes, Rose was booked for a late lunge but a minute later, his pass found Josh Parker free inside the penalty area who managed to shoot past the keeper to make it 3-0 to the R’s. Having just received a yellow card and a knock, Rose was replaced by Aaron Morgan-Cummings. Just before half-time, a Brentford player fouled Josh Ford who then retaliated by pushing the player away and was then instantly yellow carded. Half-Time: QPR 3 Brentford 0.

At the start of the 2nd half, Massih Mirzai came on to replace Aaron Waters. On 56 minutes, the R’s scored a fourth goal when a far-post cross from Chris Arthur found Josh Parker who nodded the ball back for Morgan-Cummings to head home. In the 74th minute, a Chris Arthur corner was headed over the bar by Josh Ford and 6 minutes later a clever through ball by Balanta was flicked over the goalie by Morgan-Cummings only for a defender to kick it off the line. 7 minutes from the end, Cyrus Vanterpool came on for Angelo Balanta and the score finished as a resounding 4-0 victory for the R’s. Also in attendance today were Roger Stokes and Clive snr.
