Subs used: Cox for Vanterpool, Morgan-Cummings for Rose and Massey for Balanta Rangers deserved to win this Cup tie on the weight of chances created but Luton were still in the game right up until the second goal in the closing stages which finally confirmed victory. In this modern day and age it would have probably been called a damaged metatarsal but way back then in the 67/68 Season, medical jargon was more primitive and it was merely known as a broken foot. The midweek Reserve team fixture against Southend United at Roots Hall on the 8th November 1967 was to be one of the tests to see if QPR goal scoring genius Rodney Marsh had fully recovered from this injury which had kept him out … Continue reading →

Irish Jack made mention of Shepherd’s Bush Market as a failed record seller. I became a frequent Saturday morning visitor. It was home of the famous WG Stores who also provided records for QPR. I was a frequent visitor to the Store and to the stall in the Market which sold ex-juke box records. I also visited the stamp dealer who had a small table in the same area of the Market. I think I also purchased my first Mod … Continue reading →

Evelyn Henry Lintott was the most famous player associated with the R’s to sadly lose his life during the Great War. He was a Schoolmaster and was also the first Rangers player to play a full international for England. Lintott made 35 appearances for QPR including two Charity Shield games against Manchester United after the R’s had won the Southern League. He died on the first day of the Battle of the Somme. A letter in the Yorkshire Post described … Continue reading →

Luigi de Canio took his first training session at Harlington on Tuesday mindful that his first battle will be to establish proper lines of communication. The … Continue reading →

The following article was written by Benjie Goodhart and appeared in ‘The Guardian’ on 30th October. Much of it will be familiar to R’s fans but I wanted to leave it complete:- QPR used to be skint and unattractive but with money, supermodels and a new Manager swishing around, the future looks bright. The regular reader of my outpourings (love you, Mum) will know that I’m a QPR fan. This is because I tend to shoehorn gratuitous references to the … Continue reading →
